The most popular chocolate bar in the world is Cadbury’s Dairy Milk. It was first released to the UK in June 1905, and by 1914 it was Cadbury’s best seller. There is said to be a glass and a half of milk in every half pound of the bar. The chocolate is made by blending milk powder with sugar, cocoa butter and cocoa mass. Cadbury originated in Birmingham, England and has spread all across the world. Cadbury’s produce the Dairy Milk bar everywhere except for in USA, where the Hershey Company produce it. Dairy Milk’s original wrapping paper was pale mauve with a red strip but decided to change the colour to purple in honour of Queen Victoria. In 2008 they were able to trademark the purple wrapping due to the distinctive shade of purple and were able to stop rivals like Nestlé from using it on bars and drinks. Cadbury are also very well known over the years for their good and memorable advertisements so I am putting in a link for the top 25 ads they have made, enjoy!
